I ordered a kit including a glucose monitor and WOW, I wish I would have done this sooner. It was a great learning experience to see how different foods effected my blood sugar and how the peaks crashes made me feel. Optifuel smoothies did not spike my blood glucose levels. I feel as if my surgeon has given me a gift by referring me to CSN because I now know much more about how my body works. Very interesting and helpful.

I have type 2 Diabetes and it made my blood sugar go up very high.

I chose the chocolate flavor. It was a very smooth drink and wasn't chalky to me at all. It was expensive, but I would do it again if needed for surgery.

I was not a fan of these supplemental shakes. The aftertaste was bitter. Because I ordered the cgm, there was no discount.

I second the comments of many here, in that the protein powder itself is well formulated and convenient, but that packaging is poorly designed. Especially for folks coming off shoulder / rotator cuff surgery, being able to open these large packages and pour them into a cup without getting powder all over the countertop is rather difficult. Since these packets are only about 1/20th full, it would be very easy to create much smaller packaging that could fit inside the openings of glasses or the shaker bottle without spillage. A smaller package would call even more attention yo just how expensive these packets are however. If the price was lowered I would imagine more people would opt for a three month supply - as it is, I only purchased a one month supply to help kickstart the healing process. I'm 3 weeks out from surgery on my left shoulder, and having had right shoulder surgery several years ago without the use of this product, I do feel that my recovery has been improved by the use of this product.
